That's right, sugar is EVIL! I have been eating a piece of candy here and a piece of candy there. And all it does is make my stomach upset. Now, when I look at candy, my stomach starts to churn. I don't even have to swallow the candy before I start feeling weird now.
I experimented last night. I chewed on a mini Butterfinger and spit it out. The thought of swallowing it made my tummy turn. Then I tried a Snickers "fun size," (which I did not find very satisfying) and a Twix mini. All were spat out into the trash can.
The kids and I made cookie candy bars two days ago. We wrapped sugar cookie dough around our favorite candies and baked them in the oven. Viola! Candy in a cookie! I couldn't eat those either. Not even an infinitesimal nibble.
Truly, I find those No sugar added frozen fruit bars to be the best. And Sugar-free Fudgesicles. Get my chocolate fix and not a stroke.
Oh, and I have lost a total of 74 POUNDS. Nothing big.
*shugs shoulders*
Are you friggin kidding me?!?!?!? I am on cloud nine. I have been humming practically everyday for over a week now. It is like being infatuated with someone. Every day is a song and a smile.
We (the fam) went to our cousin's house yesterday to celebrate Veteran's Day (read:get drunk and socialize). This was the first time I have seen our cousins since I have had the surgery. I expected rave reviews from his wife, but HE also paid me a complement when I showed up at the door. "You look good," he commented. Little shivers shot through me. He is not a man of many words and for him to say ANYTHING to me seems extraordinary! That put a BIG smile on my face.
This was also the first time I didn't drink when hanging out with her. Or smoke. She apparently quit smoking 5 (or six?) weeks ago. Knowing me and my triggers, I thought for sure she would start drinking, and having me present, would trigger her craving for a smoke. But she didn't....And I didn't....That was pretty cool. I did smell her Apple Martini and my stomach flopped over. Just the smell was enough to give me ill feelings. Hubby drank 17 beers. He drank (and threw up) enough for the both of us.
So, I indulged in a couple of tortilla chips and guacamole instead. Literally, two chips and guac. I also did sample some potato chips and that was about as wild as I got yesterday. Woo! Walking on the edge with salty snack food!
This morning, I made tuna salad with fish, FF mayo and dill relish. Instead of smearing it on a slice of bread, I tore up the bread into tiny pieces and stirred it into the tuna. Took me over an hour to eat it and I am still full from my experiment! Very thirsty, but not craving food. And I still need to take my supplements for the day. My biggest problem with the supplements is the vitamins. I don't remember if I have mentioned this before, and frankly I am too lazy to look it up, but the vitamins make my tummy clench. I have a real hard time eating them and not think I am going to dry heave them. But I can't NOT take them! I have to in order to stay healthy! Ugh. Blech. Yuk.
But remember......SUGAR IS EVIL!

Why don't you try liquid vitamins. I think they even sell them at Costco. I'm sure they'd have them at that Whole Foods market you always go to.
